Picked Up Some Books...

There's these GIANT BOOK SALE stores that open up in vacated store fronts. One opened up by my house. I picked up 3 interesting books. One is on PMI (Project Management Certification) for dummies, one is called Partners.Com, one is Phil Kaplan's book on Fucked Companies.

The Partners.Com book is interesting because it outlines the framework a company would need to open up it's business to partners. It offers a higher level point of view related to the business the company I work for is in. I'd like to write something in the same vane but more detailed to describe the pains we're experiencing in our own business with all the systems and trying to get information out to partners.

One of my goals for this year is to learn more about project management. One of these days, as you get older, you need to hang up your hot shot coding positions and get into managing younger talent. You need to be the guy leading the resources to build something big. Well, it helps if you're certified in it. Project Management Institute gives you a way to do that.
