2004-08-30 Inject Your Soul Into An Information System and Share Your Soul Through An Information System

I just spent the last weekend injecting myself into a system for work to get it to work properly after it was moved into a new environment in another state. This is much of what we do and get paid for. We inject ourselves into systems. We build as much of ourselves into them until they can stand on their own. Sometimes when introduced to new situations (i.e. a move to a new data center), our systems need their parents to nurse them into a new environment until they again can stand on their own.

Systems at work are not compeletely owned by us. They may be influenced by business owners and other users. They may be flawed by politics in the organization.

I want to build a pure information system where I direct it's growth and shape it so that in the end own it is my own. I want it to be able to stand on it's own but as it grows it takes on other influences but at it's core it remains a reflection of my soul that I injected into it by shaping, measuring, and mixing disparate ideas and applications for use, personal stories, and technical knowledge and invoking energy from people I have a relationship and personal connection to.

A lot of these journals may not make complete sense because I mix words to form a core idea of what I want Nostalgia to be. This software application in a sense will be what we put into it - An application you I've built as a repository that you can inject your soul into and share your soul with those you have a personal connection to.
